Sometimes, do you feel a mix of hope, doubt, and a bit of fear when you open your violin case - especially before a crucial moment?
You are not alone.
Many aspiring violinists and seasoned professionals have felt the same way. Some have even considered giving up on their dreams. But it doesn't have to be this way.
Imagine performing the music you love, feeling physically free and confident, even under pressure. This can be your reality.
At the Star Violin Studio, we go beyond the mechanics of playing to prepare you to perform the most challenging pieces with confidence and ease.
Our Star Studio System combines the right mindset, with artistic intent, and technical expertise to transform your approach to practice and performance.
By embracing our approach and putting in the work, you can transform your playing and satisfy the ears of the most discerning audiences.
So, whether your goal is to win an audition, enter a conservatory, or simply satisfy your own high expectations, step into the Star Violin studio and let's begin.
When I was a Junior in college wondering how to continue my violin studies, I heard a solo violinist perform at music camp in Maine. Although I had thousands of hours practice up to that point, the transcending beauty of that concert left me in awe of how far I could go.
The motto for the camp that year came from the French novelist Gustave Flaubert: "We long to make music that will melt the stars."
This experience led to practice rooms at Juilliard, concerts at Carnegie hall, and leadership chairs in several orchestras. I'm grateful to my exceptional teachers and colleagues who have propelled my skills heavenward as I strive for that bit of stardust on my bow.
After more than 25 years performing and teaching, I've learned that star-quality music requires more than exceptional technique. At your biggest moment on stage, the words in your head and the music in your heart is as important as the notes in your fingers. As you approach performance as a wholistic artform, your virtuosic abilities on the violin will soar.
On top of a solid foundation of consistent practice, we add the three pillars of the Star Violin Studio:
1. Mastery Mindset
2. Artistic Intent
3. Technical Expertise
Mastery of the violin is the journey of a lifetime. Taking the path upwards with an intentional approach to improving ALL of your abilities will give your playing sparks of confidence, joy, and magic.
Let's pursue excellence together. Let's make music that will melt the stars.

Weekly, 1-hour lessons are taught in the Star Violin Studio in Bedford, MA. These in-person, private lessons are essential on the path to violin mastery.
Through the Star Violin System, we develop your mental fortitude, artistic sensibilities, and technical abilities. Our structured, thoughtful, and joyful approach to development ensures that you make the most of your time in our studio and in your practice room.
Parental attendance is required for students under the age of 18.
Auditions are unlike any other performance and should be prepared for differently.
Through my experiences judging auditions and preparing for them myself, I have learned the hard way what works and what doesn't.
If you are 2 - 4 months away from a daunting audition, my well-used audition-prep protocol, score markings, and mock auditions will give you an advantage when your bow goes zipping down that Kreisler highway.
Disciplined daily practice is the foundation for musical mastery. We help you structure your practice sessions to be more productive and focused. It's both the quantity and the quality of the practice that counts!
"Practice. The better it is the better it gets. The better it gets, the better it is."

"My daughter learned to play the violin with Alice at age 5 and has been her student ever since. Now she is 18 and beginning her university degree in violin performance in the fall!
Alice's enthusiasm ignited my daughter's love for music. Her supportive and detail-oriented teaching style has helped my daughter become the best violinist she can be."
